How to Find Your Comment on Instagram
By Kushagra Kumar, founder of Shre. Updated 1 July 2026.
You left a comment somewhere on Instagram and now you cannot remember which post it was on. It happens to everyone, and scrolling endlessly is not the answer. Instagram keeps a record of your activity that includes the comments you have posted.
This guide shows how to find your own comments using Your Activity, plus a few tips for tracking down a comment when the built-in tools do not get you there. Menus vary by version, so adjust as needed.
To find comments you have made, open your profile menu, go to Your Activity, and choose Interactions, then Comments. There you can see a list of comments you have posted, sorted by date, and tap one to jump to it or delete it.
Use Your Activity to see your comments
The most reliable way to find your own comments is the Your Activity hub, which Instagram provides so you can review what you have posted, liked, and commented.
- Tap your profile picture to open your profile.
- Open the menu (the lines icon) in the top corner.
- Choose Your Activity.
- Tap Interactions, then Comments.
You will see a list of comments you have left, usually with the most recent first. Tap a comment to view options. In many versions you can sort or filter by date to narrow a long list.
Delete or manage comments from the list
Your Activity is not just for looking. It doubles as a cleanup tool.
- Select one or more comments using the checkboxes or the Select option.
- Choose Delete to remove them in bulk.
- Tap an individual comment to open the post it belongs to.
Bulk deletion is handy if you want to tidy up old comments quickly without hunting for each post one by one.
Finding a comment on a specific post
If you know the post but the comment section is huge, Your Activity may be faster, but you can also search within the post.
- Open the post and tap the comment icon to expand all comments.
- Look for the note that a comment is from you, or scroll to your username.
- On your own posts, replies to your comments generate notifications, so the Activity or notifications tab can lead you back.
Remember that if the post owner deleted your comment, or the whole post was removed, it will no longer appear anywhere.
Why you might not see a comment
Occasionally a comment you are sure you posted does not show up. A few reasons explain most cases: the account owner deleted it, a word filter hid it, the post was taken down, or the app is simply having a loading hiccup. Our guide on Instagram comments not showing covers these situations in detail.
A tip for creators
If you comment as a brand and want people to reply or take action, you can turn your comment prompts into automated conversations. Ask followers to comment a keyword and have every commenter receive a direct message automatically. Shre handles this on the official Instagram API, without logging into your account. See comment to DM, or the broader Instagram automation tool overview.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find comments I have made on Instagram?
Open your profile menu, tap Your Activity, then Interactions, then Comments. This shows a list of comments you have posted, usually newest first.
Can I delete several of my comments at once?
Yes. In Your Activity under Comments, select multiple comments and choose Delete to remove them in bulk. Steps may vary by app version.
Why is my comment missing from a post?
The post owner may have deleted it, a keyword filter may have hidden it, or the post itself may be gone. A slow connection can also delay it from showing.
Does Your Activity show comments on other people's posts?
Yes. The Comments list in Your Activity includes comments you have left anywhere, and tapping one opens the post it belongs to when it is still available.
